I asked a Bride to be why she was booking me. She had been at another reception at Devils Thumb Ranch north of Winter Park that I had facilitated. Here’s what she said in her words.

At the Trusty/Rees reception, I liked that I never noticed that you were there.  What I mean by that is, everything went very smoothly and you only talked on the microphone when necessary.  I have been to weddings where the DJ talks a lot and it is very noticable and distracting.  Also, Megan & Evan Rees told me that they were able to pick the music they wanted played.  I have also been to weddings where the DJ plays whatever they want; even if the bride and groom asked for certain songs not to be played, the DJ played them anyway.

My expectations for a DJ is that they help with the flow of the reception, keep track of time, and allow enough time between events (Dinner, speeches, first dance, bouquet toss, etc).  You seemed to do that well at the Trusty/Rees reception.

All in all, I have been to receptions that (in my opinion) the DJ ruined. Having already seen you work is the reason we want you to work at our reception. Megan and Even Rees had very good things to say about you.
