I will split it up into two categories: Us and Guests
The things we heard from the guests were basically about how smooth the evening went. We heard several "that was the best wedding I have been to in a while." I know my college buddies (the first table to take you up on the singing for buffet line placement) got a good laugh out of singing to the crowd. They also enjoyed that you helped teach people the electric and cha-cha slide. How you managed to know exactly what the crowd was looking for in songs and song order. (Fast dancing music, then resting to get a drink/breath/break, then back to energy, etc.) For the most part, it was just an overall experience of not having a single "awkward" moment in the whole reception. Something I find seems to be rare in the weddings I go to.
As for what stuck out to Katie and I? Everything. We have the same opinion that the crowd did in terms of having such a smooth evening, but obviously we know a lot of the more intimate details. We specifically enjoyed your attention to some of the specifics that the bride and groom might not normally know or have the brain power at that moment to handle. Things like instructing us and our toasters on how things should happen for the toast, cake cutting etiquette, helping the non-dance part of the evening run smoothly (coordinating with the MLL staff on food, toasting, timing of different events, etc.), and then just asking us if we needed anything. You kept it smooth, played the stuff we wanted and still worked in requests that fit well, added some flare to the evening without taking the spot light, jazzed it up without going overboard, etc.
In all, I think you made the reception what it was. Our brains were fried from all of the planning, pictures, events, greeting guests, so it was really nice that everything else was
handled perfectly for us by you. Again, I would gladly recommend you to anyone looking for help in their parties/activities.

Thank you SO much for everything... the party was amazing; I LOVED the music, and you did a fabulous job of keeping everyone on the dance floor! Not that they needed much goading, I couldn't believe how much everyone was dancing!!!! You totally did that!
Anyhow, I haven't forgotten about you, I really would love to write a testimonial for you based on our earlier decision to use an ipod vs. a DJ, which, in retrospect, was just a terrible idea, and I want people to know that. Is there anything else specific you'd like me to include? I'm happy to say anything for you, it was AWESOME!!!!

At the Trusty/Rees reception, I liked that I never noticed that you were there. What I mean by that is, everything went very smoothly and you only talked on the microphone when necessary. I have been to weddings where the DJ talks a lot and it is very noticeable and distracting. Also, Megan & Evan Rees told me that they were able to pick the music they wanted played. I have also been to weddings where the DJ plays whatever they want; even if the bride and groom asked for certain songs not to be played, the DJ played them anyway.
My expectations for a DJ is that they help with the flow of the reception, keep track of time, and allow enough time between events (Dinner, speeches, first dance, bouquet toss, etc). You seemed to do that well at the Trusty/Rees reception.
All in all, I have been to receptions that (in my opinion) the DJ ruined. Having already seen you work is the reason we want you to work at our reception. Megan and Even Rees had very good things to say about you.

I was really surprised at how much more you did than play music. You kept everything going so smoothly and the energy fun all evening.

- I've DJ'd at national level dance events and have currently done crowds as large as 1000 people.
- I've never been late to an event. I always get to the event early, set up the equipment and be ready to go at least an hour ahead of time. I then have plenty of time to review my notes and get focused on running the evening.
- I've DJ'd at the Stampede in Aurora 98% of the Thursday's for West Coast Swing night for over 9 years now. You'll find me on the dance floor part of the time that night, because I loved to dance. I’ve also competed nationally.
- I always carry back up equipment with me to every event. I have invested over $3000.00 in backup equipment, just so if something goes wrong at your event I can be back up and running in less than 10 minutes. You don't have to worry about the event ending in the middle because of an equipment disaster. If your Dj has to call for back up equipment, the crowd will be leaving and the party will be over before it arrives.
It's my job to make sure everything goes smooth so you can Relax and enjoy the Event!
